Indira Awas Yojana corruption in Naktideul

Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) now Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Naktideul block of Rairakhol under Sambalpur district has received corruption complaint. Granted fund from the beneficiary’s account has been grabbed.

As per the information, a Harijan woman named Bhara Samal (66) of village Tandabira, panchayat Daincha had applied for Indiara Awas Yojana (IAY). She was not notified about the approval neither given the work order. But she was notified to pay 22 thousand rupees about advance as the work was not started within 3 months after issuing work order according to the OPDR rule. Bhara got worried when she received the notice. She informed the word member and the word member informed it to the BDO.  BDO mock on it.

According to the investigation, in 2012-2013 Bhara Samal was approved to construct house in Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) by work order number by 184.  The estimated cost was 48 thousand and 5 hundread.  Bhara was sanctioned rupees 22 thousand in advance is mentioned in the file opened regarding the scheme. It is clear that the beneficiary Harijan woman Bhara Samal was unaware of this.

The BDO, Romanch Khamari was contacted regarding this but he did not receive the call. Daincha Sarpanch, Nirupama Behera was contacted further, she says, some brokers have cheated the beneficiary Harijan woman. And they have grabbed the money by taking signature from her.  The BDO was informed to investigate the matter. But it was not fruitful and no step is taken yet.
