Dilip Ray tried to reconcile faith of Rourkela with a Facebook post

Yesterday after my resignation from the party as well as from the Membership of Odisha Legislative Assembly, someone sent me the picture of this hoarding. It was put up in 2014 as an expression of gratitude to the people of Rourkela for blessing me with a resounding victory in the Assembly elections and for reposing their faith in me once again.
However, such has been the unfortunate events that now I have to seek an apology from the same people to whom I expressed my gratitude in 2014. For any person, nothing can be more agonizing and painful than it. The relation which I share with the people of Rourkela is something too special and unconventional and the fact that I have failed in delivering on commitments given to them and to live up to their expectations continually torments me from within.
What reply should I give to my people? – This question repeatedly bothers me. Had never imagined even in my remotest thought that I would ever quit as MLA-Rourkela but the circumstances rendered it unavoidable for me to take this tough and emotionally painful decision.
People of Rourkela have always blessed me with their love, affection and support and I have to be accountable to them. If I have failed in delivering on commitments on which I fought 2014 elections, I have no right to continue as their leader and neither have the courage to go to them to seek a re-election !!!
