Sonepur head post office is in mess. As per the recent complaint, it took 32 days to deliver a letter with in 500 mt distances from the post office.
Now-days postal services are engaged in delivering important letters of notices from courts, and different government notices and letters. Also postal department has been given responsibility of delivering registration certificates of vehicles, driving license, etc directly to the applicants’ postal address instead of providing them by person. But Sonepur post office is making unnecessary delay in providing the service.
As per the information, in between 1st May 2016 to 18 August 2016, the regional transport office Sonepur had dispatch 5004 vehicle registration books and 672 driving licenses through post. All these documents were dispatched with speed service. But due to the delay of the head post office of Sonepur, still people have not received their documents.
Further, a person residing at Patabhadi within a distance of 500 mt from the Regional Transport Office has complaint that he received after 32 days.
The locals are complaining that the officers are playing games on their computers in the office hour saying link failure.
When the Post Master of the Head Post Office Bira Deep was contacted regarding the matter, he says, an agreement is signed between the transport department and the postal department. But the agreement was not finalized for 2-3 months, so the delay was faced.
